Broadcast star Ross set for Sheffield Business Awards

Broadcast star Paul Ross will be compere this year’s Sheffield Business Awards.

Paul is the older brother of chat show host Jonathan Ross and just as well known for his work behind the cameras as in front of them.

He has the experience to be a serious journalist as well as a quick witted celebrity with his current roles as co-presenter of the BBC London 94.9FM's flagship breakfast show and the showbiz correspondent for This Morning.

He has been hosting radio shows since the early nineties as well as fronting numerous game shows including All Over The Shop and No Win No Fee for the BBC and Jeopardy for Sky One.

However, Paul’s career has also seen him work on more serious programmes. His first job as a TV presenter was on a current affairs show called Eyewitness and he has also fronted the police appeals show Crime Monthly for ITV.

Paul said: “Business drives the prosperity of the country giving everyone a better life. Sheffield is a fantastic city, so I cannot wait to meet everyone on the night and am delighted to be a part of such an event.”

Angela Fairfax, events team leader at Sheffield Chamber, added: “We are pleased to have Paul join us for the Business Awards. He has had a long and distinguished career in both news and entertainment journalism, so he will be able to bring a good blend of fun and professionalism to the event.”

Meanwhile, more than 500 tickets for the Business Awards - sponsored by Yorkshire Forward and Edge Telecom - on December 3 have already been sold.

Angela added: “The website will enable people to keep logging in to their booking to add the names of their guests every time someone confirms their attendance. This should make it easier for people to manage over a period of time rather than at last minute.”
