Record entries for Sheffield Business Awards

The tenth annual Sheffield Business Awards are set to be the biggest and best yet after the number of entries reached a record high.

The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce has received more than 150 applications for the awards, which celebrate and reward the achievements of businesses throughout the Sheffield City Region.

Entries for the Sheffield Business Awards, which is organised by the Sheffield Chamber in association with First for Business magazine, have come in from a blend of major international organisations to start-up businesses.

Angela Wall, events manager at Sheffield Chamber, said: "We are delighted to have received such a high number of entries, particularly for the year that the awards are celebrating their tenth anniversary.

“The entries we have received really showcase the diversity of the businesses and organisations we have in the region and the strength of the submissions has once again been fantastic. We are really looking forward to seeing the best of the region’s business community gather to celebrate the achievements of the last 12 months.

“We are particularly pleased to see so many non-members applying, which really underpins that this is for the whole city and not just Chamber members. We have something special planned for the evening and we hope that everybody will have a great night.”

The shortlisted entries for the 12 categories will be announced in December.

A number of high profile organisations have already signed up as sponsors for the Sheffield Business Awards, including headline sponsor Elevation Recruitment, with Wake Smith, Napoleons Casino, Sheffield City Council, Owlerton Stadium and P&A Receivables Services also pledging their support.

Tickets are now available for the Sheffield Business Awards, which will take place at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre on 19 January. Individual tickets are priced at £82.50 + VAT, a table of ten is available for £792 + VAT and a table of 12 can be purchased for £924 + VAT.
